Start from a known shape — open the library ↓Shrinkage is wet to fired — about 12% for mid-fire stoneware, more for porcelain. It is what stands between the pot on screen and the size the rib has to be cut. Wall and floor set what it holds and what it weighs. Glaze only changes the picture, as does the clay body under the pot — neither reaches the rib.
Skin: — to cover. Filled to the very brim it takes — — the headline figure leaves somewhere to put your lip, which is how mugs are sized.
The file carries real millimetres, so it lands at true size in Illustrator, Inkscape or a cutter's own software — never let anything scale it to fit the page. Black is the cut, orange the engraving.
